Insurance, P&C
Regional and specialty P&C carriers, MGAs, and wholesale brokers look to tighten the intake-to-triage queue so adjuster capacity goes to ready-to-work claims and underwriter time goes to ready-to-quote submissions. Under the NAIC AI Model Bulletin, the automation has to be audit-defensible and logged end to end. We build the classification and extraction layer for submissions, loss runs, and claims correspondence with the audit trail in the core pattern.
Where the week sharpens up
These are the patterns we see in discovery across regional P&C carriers, MGAs, and wholesale brokers. If two of the four are recognisable, the pipeline pays for itself inside a quarter.
New-business submissions arrive by email as an Acord 125, a loss run, a schedule of values, and a broker cover note, often in one zip, sometimes across three threads. Underwriters spend the first hour sorting the packet and keying the exposure basis into the policy admin system. Underwriting leaders want the packet classified, the exposure basis extracted, and the submission ready for triage before the underwriter opens it.
We build: submission classification and extraction against your appetite rules, posted into Guidewire or the policy admin system with the broker cover note attached.
Loss runs arrive in a different layout from every carrier the broker has placed with: different columns, different claim-status vocabularies, different loss-date conventions. Underwriters re-type the five-year history into a spreadsheet before the account makes it to pricing. Pricing and underwriting leads want those loss runs parsed into one normalised schema on arrival, with incurred, paid, and reserve totals tied to the original document.
We build: loss-run normalisation across carrier layouts, posted into your underwriting workbench with the source PDF attached.
Acord 25 certificates come in for additional insureds, waivers, and contract compliance, and someone has to check that the limits, endorsements, and named insureds match the policy on file. The check is manual, the certificate count is high, and a missed endorsement is a coverage question later. Compliance leads want certificates validated against the policy schedule at the door, with mismatches flagged for the account manager.
We build: Acord 25 and 125 validation against the policy schedule, flagged mismatches routed to the account manager on receipt.
A claim file grows through correspondence: insured statements, adjuster notes, repair estimates, medical reports, subrogation letters. Too much of it lives in an adjuster inbox, attached to the claim record by hand or not at all. Claims leaders want every inbound thread classified, attached to the correct claim, and the type of document tagged so the next action is clear without opening the email.
We build: claims-correspondence intake with thread classification, claim matching, and posting into Guidewire ClaimCenter or the claims system with a full audit trail.
Underwriter inbox, broker portal uploads, MGA feeds, adjuster inbox. All route into one queue per submission or claim ID.
Each document tagged to the submission or claim record and attached before extraction runs.
Structured parse for Acord forms and policy schedules, layout-aware extraction for loss runs, thread parsing for claims correspondence.
Loss-run normalisation to your schema, certificate validation against the policy schedule, appetite rules on submissions.
Clean data posted into Guidewire, Duck Creek, Sapiens, or Applied Epic with source documents attached and a full audit trail.
Carrier A reports incurred, paid, and reserve in one layout. Carrier B reports the same fields in another, with a different claim-status vocabulary. The pipeline maps both to one underwriting schema, ties each row back to the source PDF, and flags the mismatch when a classification code collides. Underwriters see one aggregate view, not two spreadsheets.
